In the past few years, we have seen MassDrop drop its mass and become “Drop”, branch off from group buys for enthusiast communities to their own product lines. This week they released their very own military-inspired field watch the Felix.
Some quick facts:
- Double-Domed Saphire
- Case Size: 39.5mm
- Movement: Automatic Selitta SW-200
- Price: Pre-order $299
- Final MSRP $349
- 4 o’clock crown
- Superluminova C3
Thoughts:
I am happy to see drop expand its product range to now include watches. Price is a little steep and I fear that perhaps it will not sell well which will make these watches available at a later date for its preorder price of $299 or even $250 a whole $100 less than its alleged final MSRP. This tactic/situation has happened numerous times with Xeric on watches.com even being offered a buy one get one 50% off.
I think the lugs are especially cool as well as the hint of orange trim around the crown.
The logo is perfectly nice and minimalist and should satisfy a lot of the dial snobs out there (looking at all you anti prospex x dial on seikos). The name “Felix” however could have used some work.

It is interesting to see “Drop” come out with a field watch as its first release. I would guess its next release will be a dive watch which will probably require a higher price.
