New Christopher Ward C65 Trident GMT Worldtimer

Back to Back posts on Watchandknife.com? Yup, had some free time from working from home and was able to catch up on my site, instagram and watch news as well as knife news. (Yesterday’s post)

Today we will be discussing my thoughts on the Christopher Ward C65 GMT Worldtimer.

Available for preorder for end of April now the Christopher Ward C65 GMT Worldtimer features both a GMT and a worldtimer with a black and yellow colorway.

Why the need for BOTH a GMT and Worldtimer? What does a GMT and Worldtimer do? Are they the same thing?

I had the above questions, I am familiar with what differentiates a real GMT from a fake GMT, but a worldtimer? Let’s break it down.

Worldtimer:

  • This shows the correct time in 24 World Cities at once. Simply rotate the bezel so it aligns with the hour hand. NOT the GMT hour hand.
  • Cities included:
    • Geneva
    • Moscow
    • Karachi
    • Bangkok
    • Tokyo
    • Noumea
    • Midway
    • Anchorage
    • Denver
    • New York
    • Buenos Aires
    • Azores
    • London
    • Athens
    • Dubai
    • Dhaka
    • Hong Kong
    • Sydney
    • Auckland
    • Honolulu
    • Los Angeles
    • Mexico
    • La Paz
    • S Georgia

GMT:

  • An independent hour hand which is a “second hour hand” rotates around the dial once a day showing hours in 24 hour time. A regular hour hand will rotate twice, 2am and 2pm. The GMT hour hand will go around the dial once. In the picture below you can see the 24 hour ring marking around the dial. Yellow for late night and early morning and white for morning and evening time.

Christopher Ward had a previous world timer – C1 Grand Malvern Worldtimer, a dressier version which had a larger case at 43.5mm, and a very cool radar like orange marker that highlighted the chosen timezone. The C1 Grand Malvern Worldtimer is still available on the Christopher ward site for $1,135.

The C65 GMT Worldtimer is priced at $1,250 on bracelet (C65-41AGM1-S0KK0-B0)

and $1,140 for the strap options (C65-41AGM1-S0KK0-WK, C65-41AGM1-S0KK0-VC, C65-41AGM1-S0KK0-HK). With a 41mm case, 150 metres (15ATM) with a screw down crown, Super-LumiNova Lume, 42 hour power reserve this would make a great daily.

I am excited to see the direction Christopher Ward is going, not many watches incorporate a Worldtimer AND GMT. I wonder what other colorways they will release. Perhaps a Pepsi or a Batman next?

Overall this is a cool watch, but not something I would purchase, or add to my grail list.

Currently the next Christopher Ward I will purchase will be the C1 Moonglow.
