By To celebrate Squale’s 60th anniversary the watch brand collaborated with Gnomon Watches for this limited edition piece. Priced at $1,140 and limited to 150 pieces the diver features a burnt orange and deep blue bezel. The Arancia- Zurro has a case size of 40.8mm and height of 12mm. Total lug to lug is 48.5mm. Inside the Arancia-Zurro is the 26 jewel Swiss Sellita SW 200 “Reglage Elabore” Automatic movement. The Squale 30 Atmos Arancia-Zurro has a lug width of 22mm comes on a mocha brown 2 piece Italian leather strap.
My Thoughts:
The Arancia-Zurro has an awesome case design and crown. The lugs angle down and should provide for a more comfortable wear on the wrist. I do like the bi-color bezel, and wish the blue was a little lighter. The deep blue in the bezel is so dark it makes it hard to read the numerals on it. I think Squale should continue using bright/fun colors especially for the upcoming summer season. I feel as if $1,140 is a high price for a Squale on a leather strap, especially when a bracelet is not included. The Arancia-Zurro does look nice on the leather strap but for a watch that celebrates the brands 60th year how could you not have a bracelet included? With a 300 water resistance I am sure many people will take this into the water, but not with the leather strap. and I hope Gnomon continues partnering with brands to provide more exclusives and limited editions.
