2019 Huntsman Year of the Pig

So far already released in 2018 for next year is the “2019 Huntsman Year of the Pig” 1.3714.E8

Victorinox Huntsman Year of the Pig 2019 in red - 1.3714.E8

Only 8,888 pieces available worldwide, each features unique individual serial number.

Comes in a beautiful Presentation box:

This is a toss up for me. With the MSRP of $105 its pretty pricey for what you are getting, and these Chinese Zodiac SAKs are not something I want to start purchasing because then I will be sucked into purchasing all of them every year to have the complete series. The only one I would purchase is the 2018 year of the dog and I would use it like any other SAK I have and EDC it very often. I have a yellow Labrador so it’s a nice reminder of her.

ALOX RED HUNTER PRO

RedHunterPro2019

After the great success of the Silver Alox Pro Hunter we now have new model. The Victorinox Red Alox Pro Hunter with non-one handed opening.

I am a huge fan of the Alox SAKs which have the Victorinox shield centered, here on the Pro Hunter Alox Models the Shield is tilted offering a more modern look to a classic.

I would have preferred if this had one handed opening similar to the Silver Alox Pro Hunter. Hopefully this means a discounted price and under $100.

2019 ALOX LIMITED EDITION: CLASSIC, CADET, PIONEER

Alox2019

Every year since 2015 Victorinox has released three Alox models in a specific colorway with the year printed on the reverse side. This year Victorinox produced a Alox Classic, Alox Cadet, Alox Pioneer in a Champagne/Gold Colorway. I have picked up the 2016, 2017, 2018 series but the 2015 series was not available for a reasonable price when I started collecting SAK’s in early 2017.

I might have to pick up three of each model as I have lost my 2017 Olive Green Cadet and I have not been able to justify the price increase on eBay for a Cadet. Original prices are $48 for a Cadet which is about $19 more than the regular non-Limited Edition Red, Silver, Black Alox Cadets available all year round. There are currently a few 2017 Alox Cadets on eBay in the price range of $55-$75.

For 2019 I am hoping that Victorinox products more Alox Models in different colorways and different tool sets as well as more StayGlow Models.

What are do you think of the 2019 releases so far and what are you hoping to see from Victorinox in 2019?
